Google will gradually expand its investment in the Android Health platform starting in 2022, aiming to reduce platform fragmentation and simplify the development process. Google said that the Android Health API has many advantages over the Fit API. This API can record the user’s “steps, distance and calories” without verifying the user’s Google account, and is more power-saving than the Fit API; in addition, Android The Health API allows developers to obtain 10 days of user history and can “seamlessly integrate into many third-party apps in the Android ecosystem.”
Google claims that the Google Fit API will be closed on June 30, 2025 , giving developers more time to transfer development work to Android Health. From now on, the Google Fit API will no longer be available. Accept new user registrations.
