Instead of late financial ups and downs with respect to company news. Xpeng Motors is seeking to stretch its global presence with its existing EVs. As per the words from the Chinese automaker’s president recently, Xpeng will be starting its sales in three new markets of Europe, from the upcoming next year.
XPeng’s entry into Europe began in Norway’s market with its P7 sedan. The same started to give deliveries in the summer of 2021. Immediately after, we tend to see that the automaker sends its G9 SUV overseas as well.
Moving ahead, by February 2022, XPeng had set up retail agreements in new markets of the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark respectively. The motive behind this is to build brand recognition and understand each market customer’s needs before its official sales.
By that time, we had noticed a 2023 P7 refresh that joined the G9 in those European markets, with its sales beginning at the start of this year. With the established network of service centers that has been implemented in those territories. At the same time, XPeng vice chairman and president Brian Gu has already promised more expansions to come.
In recent IAA Mobility in Munich, we have also come to know about what specific new markets XPeng Motors is eyeing next.
XPeng focuses on markets in Germany, France, and more
According to Brian Gu to reporters at IAA Mobility yesterday, XPeng is focusing on expanding markets in Germany, France, and Britain in 2024. This catering will begin with the prior mentioned G9 SUV and P7 sedan, as well as the most latest model to reach production, the G6 respectively.
Brian Gu also stated that the G6 primarily will debut in the UK, being the automaker’s first right-side driving EV. At the same time, XPeng Motors has been gradually but promisingly creating an identity for itself in Europe.
On the other side, most markets in Europe are still not well aware of XPeng’s EVs. Thus to cater to this, the automaker earned a serious spotlight in July by revealing a partnership with Volkswagen Group to help the latter build EVs in China.
Meanwhile, along with three more new territories on the entry list. XPeng Motors seemingly looks further in order to compete in Europe and intends to continue to grow its brand recognition.
