Chinese EV automaker ZEEKR disclosed it is moving its present European headquarters to Gothenburg, Sweden. This is a new location that is closer to the action in Amsterdam, Netherlands. While, with this effective move, ZEEKR’s motive is to increase its staff overseas, in order to keep on expanding into new locations.
ZEEKR is a Geely-owned EV brand that opts to stay with electric. Two of the company’s models have already started their trek over from China. The action was taken before its first deliveries in both Sweden and the Netherlands.
So far, ZEEKR’s EU branch has run out of Gothenburg close to the headquarters of its Geely siblings Volvo, Polestar, and Lynk & CO. With the revelation of public plans of the top three luxury EV automakers in Europe. ZEEKR is seeking to garner new employees from a big talent pool and will effectively move its headquarters to do so.
ZEEKR further calls the Netherlands a new home for EU headquarters
As reported by Automotive News Europe, the reasoning with respect to ZEEKR’s upcoming move in Europe. This is to attract a deeper talent pool at the international level. The automaker intended to bring 80 of its current staff operating in Sweden to the new headquarters. This is located in south Amsterdam, near Schiphol airport.
Furthermore, the top-level members of management approaching the transition from Gothenburg to Amsterdam. Whereas, the ZEEKR also mentioned their plans, to sum up additional personnel. It is estimated to add approximately 100 people ahead of the new year.
On the other hand, Amsterdam will tend to its home European headquarters. As per the automaker, it will continue its steady presence in Gothenburg nearby to the other brands that were specified above. The present Swedish footprint comprises of approx 1,000 employees at its technical center along with 500 employees at its styling center.
